We are collecting this information to enable the church to keep in touch with you and provide pastoral support as appropriate.
Data Protection legislation allows us to process this information as we regard it as being in the church’s legitimate interest.
Your name and contact details will be entered into our church database which is held on the church office computer which is password protected and accessed only by the Church Administrator. Your contact details will be removed from the database once you are no longer a member of the church – unless you ask to remain as one of our “church friends”. We would like to include your name and contact details in our Address List which will be available to all Church Members via a password protected section on our website, and in paper copy as appropriate. A copy will also be kept in the church office. We will not give copies of the Church Directory to anyone else.
If you are happy for your details to be included please indicate where asked to do so. You can ask for your details to be removed at any time. To enable us to provide adequate pastoral support to you and your family, one of the Elders may record information which may be regarded as sensitive. This information will NOT be disclosed to anyone else without your consent. You have the right to ask to see any information we hold about you (including the pastoral support information) by submitting a ‘Data Access Request’ to the Church Administrator. You also have the right to ask for information which you believe to be incorrect to be rectified. If you are concerned about the way your information is being handled please contact us using the above details. If you are still unhappy you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office.
If you have provided an email address, please indicate where asked to do so if you are happy for your email address to be included on church group emails. Any such email message will be to inform you of urgent prayer items, important announcements, or last-minute changes to plan. We will never pass on your email address to anyone else. Your email address is also required to provide you with access to the members-only (password protected) area of the church website.
From time to time photographs are taken during church events, social occasions or activities. These can be very useful in helping to keep the church congregation aware of things that are happening. Photographs can be used on slides in church services, on social media (closed group only) or on the church website. An identifiable photograph of you is your personal data and therefore you have the right to choose whether your image is used in these ways. Please indicate where asked to do so if you are happy for your photograph to be stored and used. If you do not provide this consent any photograph where you or your dependents are identifiable will be deleted. If you prefer to be consulted for express permission to use any particular identifiable photograph of yourself or your dependents, please indicate where asked to do so.
